It is recommended that anybody who is high risk of such abnormalities be screened. These ladies include:
- Prior history of child with abnormalities or neurodevelopmental issues e.g autism, cerebral palsy.
- Age above 35 years.
- Prior history of recurrent/repeated miscarriages.
- Prior history of stillbirth.
The genetic tests usually include:
- NIPT
- Amniocentesis with chromosomal array
- Chorionic villus sampling with arrays.
